Vaginal atrophy (atrophic vaginitis) is a thinning, drying and inflammation of the vaginal walls due to your body having less estrogen. Vaginal atrophy occurs most often after menopause.
For many women, vaginal atrophy not only makes intercourse painful, but also leads to distressing urinary symptoms. Because of the interconnected nature of the vaginal and urinary symptoms of this condition, experts agree that a more accurate term for vaginal atrophy and its accompanying symptoms is “genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM).” In addition to hormone replacement therapy, creams, lubricants and oral therapies, we offer an FDA approved, clinically proven vaginal laser treatment called MonaLisa Touch®. MonaLisa Touch® is a 5-minute, in-office treatment requiring no anesthesia or downtime.

MonaLisa Touch® is a 5-minute, in-office treatment requiring no anesthesia or downtime.
Dyspareunia is a medical term that simply means “painful intercourse”. It is a general term used to describe all types of sexual pain. Sexual pain may occur upon penetration, during intercourse, and/or following intercourse. It can exist anywhere in the genital area – the clitoris, labia, or vagina, etc. In addition to hormone replacement therapy, creams, lubricants and oral therapies, we offer an FDA approved, clinically proven vaginal laser treatment called MonaLisa Touch®. MonaLisa Touch® is a 5-minute, in-office treatment requiring no anesthesia or downtime.

From a physiological perspective, bioidentical hormones derived from natural plant sources are identical to those that the body produces for itself, in the right proportions. When we are “replacing” the body’s hormones, we feel it makes more sense to use entities which the body recognizes as its own, rather than hormones from horses, imbalanced versions or overly potent synthetic versions. The hormones we use are mainly Estradiol, Estriol, (E2, E3, respectively), progesterone, testosterone, and DHEA. Ask about harmonié hormone replacement therapy.
HPV can cause many female related disorders including abnormal pap smears, cervical cancer, and genital warts. We diagnose and treat HPV related disease and offer the Gardasil vaccine as HPV disease prevention.

Sexually transmitted infections are very common. However, some people incorrectly classify this as a moral issue. The resulting discomfort and shame associated with sexually transmitted infections can defy common sense and prevent proper care for yourself and your partner. We urge you to practice safer sex, get annual sexual-health checkups and, although many people find it very difficult to talk about their sexual health, speak frankly and openly with your clinician about your sex life and your sexual health concerns.
Remember, testing, examination, and treatment for sexually transmitted infections are always confidential. We offer testing for sexually transmitted infections during your annual checkup regardless of marital status and sexual preference.
