What inspired you to work in healthcare/become an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse?
I am naturally curious and consider myself a lifelong learner. I’ve always been drawn to science and how the human body works; I am fascinated by the healing powers of the human body. I wanted to continue my education and support, educate, and advocate for patients through personalized treatment plans, which led me to become an RN and then an APN.
What areas of women’s health are you most passionate about helping patients with right now?
I’m particularly passionate about integrative approaches to perimenopause and menopause care. These transitions can be overwhelming, and I love empowering women to navigate these life stages with confidence and personalized strategies- whether it’s hormone therapy, lifestyle modifications, or integrative approaches.
I am also passionate about longevity medicine and optimizing the quality of life as we age.
If you really knew me, you’d know…
I am a sucker for longevity medicine, science podcasts, and books, as well as exploring how we can harness the healing powers of the mind and body to delve deeper into the root cause.
Other Fun Facts:
I have run a marathon AND skydived– THREE times! I spent a summer in Australia and attended week-long meditation retreats. Additionally, I have an infrared sauna and a PEMF mat (pulsed electromagnetic field) in my home, which I use almost daily.
How do you relax, recharge, or have fun outside of work?
My go-to activities for recharging are reading, yoga, cooking with family, cultivating plants, walking, hiking, and meditation. We have recently begun trying our hand at beekeeping and reaped our first bounty of honey last summer.
What personal or professional achievement are you most proud of?
The regular practice of yoga has had a profound impact on me. I am currently in yoga teacher training and will graduate in November of this year. I look forward to teaching yoga and incorporating my knowledge of the mind-body connection into my practice.
What’s your favorite hobby or activity outside of work?
I am adventurous at heart and am usually the YES girl in the group. I love to travel, camp, and experience new cultures. I feel at home amidst nature, surrounded by plants and flowers. I have a small plant business called Ginger Roots. You can find me at outdoor art markets, where I enjoy meeting new people and discussing all things plants. I love to hike and practice yoga regularly. I enjoy a sunny day and a good book.
Most of all, I Love a good laugh and being present with family and friends.
What message would you like to share with your patients?
We are all in this together – your health is not a one-size-fits-all approach. I’m here to listen, learn your story and concerns, and work with you to create a plan that fits your unique needs and goals.
What excites you most about joining the Couri Center team?
