At the Couri Center for Gynecology and Integrative Health, we believe that along with a balanced diet, you should also have an active lifestyle. No matter what your age, the United States government recommends 60-minutes of activity most days of the week.

Physical activity does not mean you are at a gym every day for an hour. Physical activity includes any form of movement such as running, biking, walking, hiking, cleaning, shopping, playing with children, and swimming. We encourage you to find a type of exercise that motivates you, and that you enjoy.

THE BENEFITS OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY ARE:

  • Weight loss
  • Decreased stress
  • Emotional stability
  • Increased energy during the day
  • Increased sleep at night
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Lower cholesterol
  • Increased muscle mass
  • Increased flexibility
  • Reduced fat
  • Stronger heart
  • Reduced risk of Type 2 Diabetes
  • Improved self-confidence
  • Decreased risk of depression
  • More efficient pulmonary system
